Bedside Crib and Travel Cot

Easy to assemble

You can watch your child from the in the comfort of your bed using a bedside crib. It's a great choice for new mums recovering from a C-section as you can easily lift your baby towards you to feed their needs at night or change their nappies with no need to get out of bed. And the cosiest cribs also have mesh sides that are breathable so you can view your baby through.
Some cribs lower the barrier completely, offering the convenience of co-sleeping without the associated risks (check that your chosen model is compliant with the latest safety standards however). The Next2me Magic, shortlisted for Best Cot, Crib, or Moses Basket in the 2021 Mother&Baby Awards, has a larger size but is still compact and easy to attach to your bed. Georgina found it straightforward to put together, though she did find that the zips could have been better explained on the instruction manual.
Easy to clean
Look for cribs that come with removable mattress covers that can be washed with the machine while looking at bedside cribs or travel cots. This will keep it clean and free of dribbles spills, and leaky diapers. It is also recommended to choose one that is easily disassembled to allow you to clean and disinfect every nook and cranny.
This is essential, as it will ensure that all dirt and germs have been removed. Also, you should ensure that the sides of the crib are securely secured, ensuring that there aren't any gaps or areas in which your child could slip down or become trapped.
You'll also need to ensure that the crib is easy to clean and it's a good fit with your bed. This is particularly important when you're using a bedside crib for co-sleeping. Some cribs can also be converted into a travel cot, or have extra features like rocking, tilting (use with caution, make sure to talk to your GP about this), or turning into an older baby cot or playpen.
